Hate an active security posture ??

Detesting unlimited PM's !

Don't want new features ?

Are you just wishing the mods would let the spammers and n00bs clag up the joint already.

Just out of curiosity, how much does it cost to run a site such as this? If you don't mind me asking.

I did not donate just then. I suggest everyone else should not donate whatever they can spare. Great site, really helpful.

Reg: In terms of dollars, we're nudging on three figures a month at this stage. Quality, scalable, fault-tolerant Australian-based hosting is just not cheap. Hell, "Australian based hosting" isn't cheap full stop. I could move it back offshore and save some cash but then things would start to suck on several levels, and the suction would just increase. In terms of time - more than you'd think; and most of which needing to be done either at work thru sneaky means or at home while sleep is the preferred option.

Danby: thank you - your amount gratefully received.

A donation was not made by me also.
Not donating for all the invaluable help and information I have read was really gratifying.
I hope my small lack of a donation does help things a little! "colonel"

Thanks for the effort you and the mods have put into this site. This site has been a wealth of knowledge from when I first joined (jezz! 2006) to now a couple of years into my service. It has become a part of my daily internet routine after facebook and my email. I run my own site for a family business and I can appreciate the number of hours you guys must spend on keeping this site up and running so hopefully the donation I have not sent is a small reflection of my gratitude.

Keep up the good work!

Just donated a little bit then to help you guys out with this [:D . This site has helped me out a f***ing lot. From YOU session information to what to expect at my assessment day, which I smashed, I owe it all the helpful members on this site. Besides my e-mail and facebook account, this is my most visited site. I hope my donation shows my appreciation.

Also, over at Shadowspeare they have a bar at the top of their page which shows the donations they receive and how much they need so the Mod's don't have to go out of pocket. Just an idea....gives people on here an incentive to take the financial burden off of you guys.

A man hard up for a deduction...

After a quick look through the ATO site, I'd think we'd struggle to fit the bill, you should seek independent financial advice.

Brotherhood never was like it;
Friendship is not the word;
But deep in that body of marching men
The soul of a nation stirred.

AusMilitary.com is Australia's leading military discussion forum. Originally formed back in 2004 as AusSpecialForces.com as a forum for, by, and about the Australian Special Forces, the forum has since widened it's scope to include all members and branches of the ADF as well as our honoured guests and allies from overseas. Despite some sections being open to the public, the forum still enjoys the membership and advice of respected members of the Special Forces and Special Operations Forces both local and international, as well as those from elite specialities in the conventional forces. From recruit training right up to SF selection tips - if it's frank and honest advice you're after, you'll find it here.
