Thats good to know, thanks for your help. Another question regarding Loadies, what "mustering" would a Loadmaster be in? I've been searching for quite a while and can't seem to find much on it.

HI guys, so after about 2 years patiently waiting for Movements the Loadmaster job has recently come up available to civi. I looked at it in the past and it was something I was interested in once I wanted to progress from movements however it's available now and recruiting so I'm pretty keen to go and do the additional testing on Wednesday. Has anyone done it recently?
"Specialist Testing (A timed test of speed and accuracy in numerical calculations, approximations and estimates.)" If successful, a selection board and possibly more..

I'm interested in both Movements and Loadmaster I work in logistics at the moment and I quite like it hence why these 2 jobs appeal to me the most.

Also any info from a loadie would be awesome too! Thanks heaps

Hi everyone- new to this forum so forgive me if this has previously been discussed having a bit of trouble filtering through the numerous pages.

My name is Tiana, I'm 22 years old and I have just passed my assessment day and been recommended for both positions as a Loadmaster (RAAF) and Military Police Officer in the Army. Loadmaster is my preferred role and I would be honoured to land it! Math is not my most favourite thing in the world, I only did math A through high-school but somehow still managed to pass the speciality testing for the position, I feel like it's meant to be! I know I would need to study very hard when it came to that part of the training in order pass.

I really want this position and am yet to sit the selection board interview (pending aircrew additional medical testing) . Just looking for someone to shed some light on my chances/selection board interview and general opinion on the situation! Or any math related examples or sites that I could use to begin studying now.

Much appreciated ! Please PM me if you have any direct advice/info relating to my post :)

Hi everyone- fairly new to this forum, didn't really get many responses last time.

I really want this position and am yet to sit the selection board interview booked for the 18th July . Just looking for someone to shed some light on my chances/selection board interview and general opinion/tips on getting through selection board and math examples etc!

Much appreciated ! Please PM me if you have any direct advice/info relating to my post :)

I don't recall a RAAF loadmaster inhabiting the boards, you may want to hit up your EC for a RAAF contact.

They now require you to sit a selection board interview ! I have the details and am attending a LOADM info night coming up on the 20th July.. Just wanting to prep as much in advance as I can.

Hi all, im trying to join the raaf as a loadie, and just after a few answers thanks

Are loadmasters away for most of the year like away from base/home?

Can people in movements still transition into a loadmaster role?

What is a typical day like both ground and flying phase?

Are chances of deployment and providing disaster relief efforts high?

Is this a rewarding career -pro's and con's

Do you get sent overseas to train with other military like the usaf?

Do you get moved around alot between bases or just stay at one particular base for a number of years?

AusMilitary.com is Australia's leading military discussion forum. Despite some sections being open to the public, the forum still enjoys the membership and advice of respected members of the Special Forces and Special Operations Forces both local and international, as well as those from elite specialities in the conventional forces. From recruit training right up to SF selection tips - if it's frank and honest advice you're after, you'll find it here.
