Hey Guys,

Looking for a current or Ex personnel in the Sydney area who are highly trained in Handgun disciplines to help develop and run a handgun training course for beginners.

This is for a new business bringing safe and knowledgeable training to civilian licensed firearm owners.

PM me if you are interested or know someone who may be.

Payment will be discussed over PM.

Cheers

Chuckfold

Local pistol club would be your best place to look.

Bear in mind the ONLY legal reason for handgun ownership in Australia is target shooting.

Care to elaborate on the nature and name of this business?

Unless they're keen civvy shooters, the defence guys are not going to have any coaching/instructor accreditation.

Speaking of payment, I haven't seen a paypal notification come through yet. That's a requirement for using this part of the forum. This thread has a rapidly approaching expiry date.

Yeah am aware of the legalities of firearm ownership. I am currently working for a Sydney Gun shop
and have ABH categories. What am after is someone to help develop and run comprehensive training course for beginners (Probationary) as well as established shooters, teaching training techniques and drills.

Local pistol clubs don't really have the skill sets and honestly the reputation I'm looking for. I'm trying to put together a professional outfit to fill a void in the shooting community.

And that's exactly my point. What training and accreditation do we have in Australia for Handguns? I'm hoping to develop a course that will bring a level of knowledge and training to novice shooters that cannot be readily attained through clubs.

You would still have more luck approaching gun clubs.

Have you contacted the Sydney international shooting center? I know of several international level competitors in all firearms disciplines that will donate or sell you their coaching skills.

Thanks for your help. I may go down that track. Would still like to speak to anyone on here who is interested.

Cheers

AusMilitary.com is Australia's leading military discussion forum. Originally formed back in 2004 as AusSpecialForces.com as a forum for, by, and about the Australian Special Forces, the forum has since widened it's scope to include all members and branches of the ADF as well as our honoured guests and allies from overseas. Despite some sections being open to the public, the forum still enjoys the membership and advice of respected members of the Special Forces and Special Operations Forces both local and international, as well as those from elite specialities in the conventional forces. From recruit training right up to SF selection tips - if it's frank and honest advice you're after, you'll find it here.
