What happens during enlistment day? Also is your enlistment ceremony on the same day aswell or is that before your enlistment day?

I don't know if I've read anything on the enlisting day. On mine we had a final med check, filled out some paper work, did the oath taking ceremony and got details for the flight over East for the next morning.

I enlisted previously in '98, here in WA. It was at Leeuwin Baracks (Fremantle). We did the PFA, got changed, had some tucker with my parents (can't remember if it was before or after the ceremony), filled out some paperwork, got sworn in, then sat around with the corporal who was taking us to Kapooka watching TV the rest of the night.

Stayed at the barracks overnight, left real early in the morning after breaky to catch the plane to Sydney. When we arrived at the DFR everyone there had just been sworn in, then we all got on the bus for the long drive to Kapooka, stopping on the way for some ADF payed-for food.

couldnt imagine it being as extensive as assessment day however in saying this they are checking for changes in the things they have previously tested so it could be very well similar.

AusMilitary.com is Australia's leading military discussion forum. Originally formed back in 2004 as AusSpecialForces.com as a forum for, by, and about the Australian Special Forces, the forum has since widened it's scope to include all members and branches of the ADF as well as our honoured guests and allies from overseas. Despite some sections being open to the public, the forum still enjoys the membership and advice of respected members of the Special Forces and Special Operations Forces both local and international, as well as those from elite specialities in the conventional forces. From recruit training right up to SF selection tips - if it's frank and honest advice you're after, you'll find it here.
