Replace new topic button with search button and hide new topic button in some dark obscure place.

New section "Employment offers and requests" has now been added.

Employers:

• Serious, current offers only
• Keep it factual
• Provide a contact email address and at most one URL

Employees:

• Do not post any personally identifying information
• Jobs can be discussed in general terms but other than that all communication is to be by PM or offline.
• Absolutely no responsibility is taken for outcomes relating to the use this facility.

Within the next few days (or maybe even tonight if I get a chance) I'll be implementing a whole slew of upgrades embracing pretty much everything from the board software, the database, the webserver and surrounding software, the OS it's running on, the hypervisor running that, and the physical hardware running that so expect the site to be up and down a bit.

Will post here again when it's all complete.

Is it possible to update the links on the home page which relate to different thread sections. Like "get on the bus recruit" etc, a lot of the links are dead.

Also is it possible to get a redirect to the thread you want to post in after you log in, instead of a return to index link?

When you click a link from the home page and it ends up at a thread which has either been moved of merged, you see this:

I think the problem is that some people are a bit basic.

I generally use the mobile version so maybe I don't get the whole picture.

But I get your point, use the search. Btw im just asking, not implying action is needed.

Just a minor thing I've noticed is that the visitor counters at the bottom of the page are no longer keeping track of registered users.

True, that broke a few upgrades ago. Am still looking to reinstate that.

Speaking of breaking things I'll be doing some fairly major upgrade and migration work over the coming days, so, if the lights suddenly go out and you trip over a chair, you'll know why. Will post an update when it's all done and relative calm has been restored.
