Well if you can't enlist when you are meant to, you will just postpone your enlistment date, you don't have to go through the whole process again.

I strained a knee ligament two weeks before an intake, had to get assessed by my doctor, he sent DFR a fax, then I got classed medically unfit for entry.

Now because my 12 months are up since I sat my Assessment I have to re-sit assessment day again. So either deal with it or prepare to have some fun times dealing with DFR to get a new enlistment.

Alright, the doc said it was a soft tissue injury which is a relief, I might just suck it up and continue on :twisted:

Bah, that is fucked. I had envisioned saying, "hi, I'm med1 now, put me through to the enlistment people".

That would most likely happen if if there were plenty of intakes for your job, however for me that wasn't the case.

Such is life, eh. They are apparently even turning away rifleman applications now.

Brotherhood never was like it;
Friendship is not the word;
But deep in that body of marching men
The soul of a nation stirred.

AusMilitary.com is Australia's leading military discussion forum. Originally formed back in 2004 as AusSpecialForces.com as a forum for, by, and about the Australian Special Forces, the forum has since widened it's scope to include all members and branches of the ADF as well as our honoured guests and allies from overseas. Despite some sections being open to the public, the forum still enjoys the membership and advice of respected members of the Special Forces and Special Operations Forces both local and international, as well as those from elite specialities in the conventional forces. From recruit training right up to SF selection tips - if it's frank and honest advice you're after, you'll find it here.
