Hi All

I own and manage a private security company in Sydney.
Our clients are HNW families and their business interests.

Over the past 8 years I have employed many people who had recently made the move into the civilian world from the following backgrounds; Army, Royal Marines, Navy, AFP, NSW Police, SA Police, RAAF Police.

The skills and training that these backgrounds bring to our team, works well for the team, the individuals as well as our clients.

If you know anyone making the transition to the civilian world, please feel free to pass on our details.
Security licences are required for employment.

Questions or expressions of interest can be emailed to Jobs@protonsecurity.com.au

Our job advert link is below.

If the security roles we are currently recruiting for does not suit individual applicants, I'll be more than happy to walk any interested parties through the steps required to get relevant security licences and prepare for job applications.

Hi All

I haven't received any messages through this blog from service men seeking to transition into the civilian world.
Does anyone have any feedback for me on this?
Is my post offensive in some way?

We work well with servicemen making the transition in the past and they usually appreciate the opportunity to use some of their training and skills in civilian life so I assumed there would be a bigger response.

Any feedback would be great.

This site probably deals more with people at the start of their Defence career than at the end looking to transition.

The job link is dead too, unsure how long that has been the case.

Thanks for the feedback.
Any suggestions on how to best connect with transitioning servicemen and servicemen who have left full time roles in Australian services?

I've done a quick google, I found your page, it's pretty generic, I have no idea what contracts you have, what roles are open.
Next hit has a site saying your average pay rate is 12% lower than similar companies, and the reviews of employees appear to be mostly from Nigerians. Next hit is a Nigerian security company with the same name, which probably accounts for the reviews. Next hit is rape claims against a Proton guard, which appears to be the Nigerian company. Then I'm seeing this thread here, so your online presence must be tiny.

At this point, unless I know someone who works for you, I'm moving on somewhere else.

You initially said you'd employed people from Army, Royal Marines, Navy, AFP, NSW Police, SA Police, RAAF Police. They should be feeding you employees if you're a good place to work.
Try advertising in the Defence news papers. And social media, I can't find you on linkedin either, so you might want to get on there.

AusMilitary.com is Australia's leading military discussion forum. Originally formed back in 2004 as AusSpecialForces.com as a forum for, by, and about the Australian Special Forces, the forum has since widened it's scope to include all members and branches of the ADF as well as our honoured guests and allies from overseas. Despite some sections being open to the public, the forum still enjoys the membership and advice of respected members of the Special Forces and Special Operations Forces both local and international, as well as those from elite specialities in the conventional forces. From recruit training right up to SF selection tips - if it's frank and honest advice you're after, you'll find it here.
