Thanks! Really appreciate the input! I am now following a lead and wondering if he might be 2/3 Australian Field Park Co - Royal Engineers - so will follow through on that. Cheers, Jenny

You were right - Army. RAE, Middle East, then around Australia for the last few yrs of the war. Nice work.
